Except in Ambo and Mekele, The reports we are getting show that EPRDF’s wins are all in landslide territory(mostly getting more than 8/10 of the votes in each constituency)
17:00
So far, we have received no reports of a single win by opposition party candidates. Independent candidate Ashebir Woldegiyorgis has won at Bonga(unconfirmed), but he ran on a pro-EPRDF platform.
16:55
In Diessie EPRDF is heading for a landslide win. With 75% counted, the party got 70% of the votes. Dessie has never voted for the EPRDF in previous elections.
16:50
In many constituencies, Medrek election observers refused to sign the standardized papers which attested that the counting was made fairly and following the rules. On Thursday Redwan Aman of EPRDF told supporters of the party that Medrek had instructed its observers not to sign the papers.

Landslide for TPLF/EPRDF in Tigray. Seeye got between 50 and 150 votes in each polling station. In Temben, there are 72 polling stations which have 1000-1950 registered voters. All polling stations decisively went for TPLF contestant Kiros. Addis Neger just talked to Siye: “We have worked as much as we can to mobilize voters. It is difficult to accept the situation now. I will talk to lawyers and then make a public announcement when I go back to Addis Ababa.”
In Adiwa, Aregash got less than 10 votes in each polling stations -none in some of them. TPLF has won all seats in Tigray.

Of course EPRDF wins specially in Tigray there is absolutly no doubt …did i miss a meeting or something? were we expecting anything else..? So this arm struggle we are talking about..how the hell are we going to recruit or be recruited?
Talk of armed struggle: not an option for Ethiopia!!!

every ethiopian knows which party they elected including me.
it is fact that eprdf would win>>>>no doubt
guess what EPRDF will be in the next five years? a total Dispotic Power where the executive, the legislature and the Judiciary is going to be one-TPLF(Don’t miss its Tigrian People Liberation Front)
We must put up or shut up. Fight the dictatorship in anyway possible or just shut up. The peacefull struggle blaha blah joke must stop.
I believe the time has come to seriously think about a solution to this problem we are facing.

The “election” result is not a gift to TPLF, is rather to those advocating overall struggle (including the armed one). Now, I personally convinced that the so caled peaceful strugle do not work in Ethiopian case, at least for the next 10 years. Those of you who want to try it for additional time, you may. But I and those who agree with my view want the integrated call of G-7 and others. P.S. Dr. Berhanu, don’t miss this opportunity. TPLF gave you a hot cake.

ARMED STRUGGLE ??????? HAHAHA U r killing me out of laughter. is the struggle in the cyber world ? it requires so many attributes instead of being a cyber tiger and saying AKAKI ZERAF sitting in a comfort zone especially in the diaspora.
or prove me wrong if it is possible armed struggle by remote control using ESAT and cayber.
on Armed struggle: One thing about wars is that they are so destructive. We can never be sure what the victors will have as an agenda; may be ask for their turn to exploit the resources of the country until who knows when. Besides, armed struggle cannot succeed in Ethiopia b/c the people of the country have been divided ethnically for two decades making trusting each other a difficult task.
Believe me, the best way is to give peaceful struggle another go. Let’s not think about today. It would be a blessing if Ethiopia can attempt a free and fair election in 10 years time. Let’s start to respect each other. The more you express your anger on the incumbent government and its supporters the more blindly they’d act. After all, they are all our brothers and sisters. They are one of us. We can talk to them with some respect. It takes time, it hurts to wait so long but that is the only best way.
I don’t think they think like you think. In a country where there is clear discrimination based on ethnicity it is very hard not to be angry, though that may not bring any change.
Dr Berhanu knew the true face and character of TPLF long ago. He has determined not to fool himself a second or more times unlike Hailu, …If there is no free and fair election, why would we even talk about who won by what as it is more than clear
የብርቱካን ነገር ተረስቶ እንዳይቀር
Shut up or get up! That is the message this election should send to each one of us who care for our beloved country. It can’t get any worse than this. Since Woyane will never and ever be changed it should be removed. By what means? By any. Those who want to go through election you have five years to prepare for, but you will get no different result than this. Unless EPRDF is faced with a credible challenge, be it military or peaceful there is no way, that it will open up political space.
Even if I am not in anyway the supporter of this regime, the loss of Beyene and Lidetu, if confirmed, would make me happy.
My friend Peaceful struggle is dead. Woyannie is a destructive force. It will stay in power by any means. The western powers do not care about Ethiopian. Donor policy is stability over democracy. Our fathers and forefathers did not go to Sudan or Kenya to find a base. They organized and fought in Ethiopia. Why 2000 Al Shebab chased 30,000 Woyannie troops out of Somalia? Those who say the removal of Woyannie by armed struggle will disintegrate Ethiopia, are already in the Woyannie trap. Remember our enemy is not only Woyannie but also the new oligarchs who finance Woyannie repression machinery. Let us organize in a different way?
One final note: The defeat of the so called opposition is an opportunity for a new beginning for Ethiopia’s democratic forces.
This absolutely a nice drama.what a democratic selection!!!!kikikikiki
any ways the option is clear now.no one is in parliament plays EPRDF SCRIPT.
What is next it quite simple, ALL EYES AND LEGS TO GINBOT 7 MOVEMENT!!!
most of them they don’t even have a seat in the parliament to begin with.
Has anyone ever saw that we are a step behind a Stalin like dictatorship and a China(Mao) like one party rule over everything? Now it is surfaced in our face after this election. So let’s see for one more ‘surprise’ for all of us….and I refuse to say it but have no choice…Pol Pot.
Wondwossen, you said it all. i think all of us at this point in time regretted why we did not push kinigit to take their parliament seat and taking over addis ababa administration in 2005. That time all of us think the political space is closed but what we saw after five years is worse. if kinjit was in a position to administer Addis and try to strength the party position, today the result could have been different………for people who are suggesting armed struggle, sorry guys ethiopia is not ready of another destructing war and to go thirty years back…..
if you afraid keep yourself away.
Meyisaw, you might be living in one of european or american cities and try to convince people here at home to start armed struggle?……thats really funny…..war is not an ultimate solution to our problem….
Dr Birhanu is vindicated! All the rest should join him now! There is no way the ballot box will result in change of government as far as racist TPLF is in power. NO WAY WHAT SO EVER! WE ARE ETERNALLY CONDEMNED TO FIGHT IN AN ARMED STRUGGLE TO A BETTER FUTURE WE WILL FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why we bother about this facke election. just five year before in the face of the international observer and the world we ethiopian elect what we want! since then life beome worse and worse in every aspect including blocking free press, intemediation, unemployement…. so how can we choose those evil mind leader. Bravo Dr Birhanu likewise Birtukan.
100/100
Now, we will be losing the limited civil liberties we had in due time. The Stalinist type controls are already in place. The ruling party people have already forgot what they learned from the former dictator.
I tried to post my comment and you censored it. Ethiopian opposition blogs are the worst censors since the invention of the written word. Even pro EPRDF blogs like aiga and ethiopiafirst allow a degree of variety of opinion.
I understand that some standards of behaviour are reasonable to expect from bloggers otherwise ill-mannered behaviour can put off people who have valuable comments to make.
You on the other hand pretty much block everything which is pro EPRDF or different from your ‘political beliefs’. So much for your advocacy of freedom of expression.
we told them not involve in election.
Woyane get through its okay but we will ask them in juistice one day. they distroy our country. they do all false election, that hurt ethiopian people and democracy.
Please Please don’t use the word “Win” properly. You are reporting as if there is a fair election. If you want to report about how many seats are grabed by EPRDF, you can either say EPRDF successfully cheated this and that much number of seats. By using the word “Win” you are giving legtimacy to the election results which by any standard was not fair and free.
I agree with most of the comments in here that the winner of election 2010 is Dr. Berhanu Nega – he foretold that EPRDF won’t be democratic and the only way foreward is armed struggle – you need to pay a price to liberte yourslef and the struggle will now for sure begin. As Obama said “…there is a limit to reason …”.I wonder if any of the opposition leaders will insist on the so called peaceful struggle. The things they are doing even do not qualify as a peaceful struggle – they should have rejected the results and call for a stay at home strike so and so but they even don’t have the gut to speak loudly that the votes are rigged. Hope they won’t lie themselves once again.
